The Helix AAC intertenancy and party wall systems feature panels designed for quick installation between separate residential buildings. They address three key challenges of modern homes in Australia – acoustic and thermal insulation and fire safety.
Product Overview
The main star of this system is autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). This porous material reduces noise transmission by up to 50 dB and achieves an FRL of up to 120/120/120, making the walls suitable for use in BAL-rated zones. AAC panels also use thermal mass to eliminate temperature fluctuations and reduce energy costs.
Helix AAC intertenancy and party wall systems are NCC certified, meaning the panels have undergone rigorous testing to meet Australian standards for fire resistance and sound insulation. Helix AAC panels come in two thicknesses - 50mm and 75mm, while both panels are 600mm wide. This means that one panel can replace 35 to 45 standard bricks. Helix panels can be installed on various elements, from concrete slab-on-ground to timber and steel wall framing. They can also be cut and shaped with a standard hand saw, which significantly speeds up installation, reduces labour costs, and minimises waste.
